3DTech has unveiled a six-barrel interceptor drone “Khyzhak Shooter”

Ukrainian defence tech company 3DTech took part in Brave1 demo day, showcasing its interceptor drone “Khyzhak Shooter,” designed to engage enemy drones and infantry. The project had previously been announced by the company’s CEO, Oleksii Zhulinskyi.

The “Khyzhak Shooter” UAV is equipped with a recoilless six-barrel gun. It uses standard 12-gauge hunting cartridges — either with shot or buckshot. Both the cartridges and the weapon have been modified to eliminate recoil entirely. As a result, the drone can fire in single, automatic, or even salvo mode — discharging all six cartridges at once.

Another version of the drone is designed to intercept high-speed targets. It features two guns, allowing it to carry a lighter payload and achieve speeds of 150 km/h or more. This variant is better suited for striking multiple targets. In the six-barrel configuration, the drone flies directly towards its target.

“At a range of 25 metres, the shot spread is around 80 by 80 centimetres — a dense cloud of pellets that makes hitting the target significantly easier,” explains Zhulinskyi.

According to the developer, fibre-optic drones are even easier to hit due to their larger components, such as coils or batteries. The “Khyzhak Shooter” is not yet in widespread use, but is undergoing testing in selected units.
