Ukraine and Denmark announce joint production of long-range drones and missiles

Denmark will become the first country with which Ukraine will launch joint production of long-range drones and missiles outside Ukrainian territory. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting in The Hague with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen.

Special attention was given to deepening defence cooperation, developing a joint weapons production model in both Ukraine and Denmark, and building on the effectiveness of the so-called “Danish model”, which has already proven successful. Zelensky also noted that Denmark will allocate €1.26 billion this year to support Ukrainian production of long-range drones.

A day earlier, Ukraine and Denmark signed an intergovernmental agreement on joint weapons production. The agreement opens the door to manufacturing Ukrainian weapons in Denmark and marks the first step in implementing the Build with Ukraine initiative, launched during the previous meeting in the Ramstein format.

As previously reported, Zelensky also announced a bilateral agreement with the United Kingdom. The initiative is aimed at strengthening the defence industry, accelerating the production of Ukrainian drones, and expanding strategic cooperation. As part of the implementation of these agreements, the two countries are establishing a joint engineering centre, launching a patent exchange, and opening two new drone assembly lines — in London and Lviv.
