Venator Technologies codifies Flycat loitering munition with terminal guidance

Updated drone features improved performance and a new wing design

Ukrainian company Venator Technologies has codified the Flycat loitering munition, equipped with an autonomous terminal target guidance system. The drone features an X-shaped wing that enables aggressive manoeuvring along all axes and allows it to engage not only static but also moving targets, including during the final phase of the attack.

As Defender Media learned from the manufacturer, the current version of the drone features improved tactical and technical characteristics, along with an updated wing design. At the same time, Flycat is not yet available for procurement through state marketplaces.

According to previously released data, Flycat has a flight range of more than 45 kilometres and can reach an attack speed of up to 150 km/h. The drone is fitted with a modular warhead weighing between 2.5 and 3.7 kg, which can be high-explosive fragmentation, shaped-charge, thermobaric, or a combination of these. Launch is carried out using a pneumatic catapult, and system deployment takes approximately 20 minutes. The development is also stated to be independent of satellite navigation.

Flycat was first reported in autumn 2025, when the drone was showcased at an exhibition in the United States. Unlike most fixed-wing drones with a single pair of wings that perform slow, smooth turns, Flycat’s X-shaped aerodynamic configuration enables rapid course changes while pursuing a moving target.
