The RAD v1.1 electronic warfare system, developed by the Ukrainian manufacturer High Tech Solutions, blocks the control signals of hostile UAVs and disrupts communication between a drone and its operator. The system was designed as a portable countermeasure against FPV drones and other UAVs. It has already been listed on the Brave1 marketplace. Defender Media spoke with a representative of High Tech Solutions about the system’s capabilities and its current status.

The company states that the development of RAD v1.1 took approximately a year. RAD v1.1 has already passed testing and is currently in use by combat units. It has entered serial production and is presently undergoing codification.

RAD v1.1 has a modular design and consists of two units, each with three frequency channels. The basic version operates in the 400–1100 MHz range, and its configuration can be expanded to cover 300–5850 MHz depending on operational requirements.

The device is equipped with a built-in 50 A·h battery that provides up to nine hours of operation. The system weighs up to 13 kg including the battery, delivers up to 300 W of output power and can generate interference within a radius of up to 500 metres. RAD v1.1 can be powered by its own battery, the mains or a vehicle power system. It also supports the installation of external antennas and remote operation.

RAD v1.1 supports the installation of external antennas. They can be mounted on vehicles to enhance protection, or positioned away from the operator’s location to improve concealment and safety. When required, the system can be supplied with a dedicated rucksack, and it can also be equipped with a wireless remote-control module.
