Ukrainian company UkrDefense unveiled the upgraded Gaarpia interceptor drone at the IT Arena 2025 expo. The unmanned aerial system is designed for rapid response to airborne threats.

According to the developers, the updated version retains the features operators valued in its predecessor — manoeuvrability, controllability, and modular design. At the same time, feedback from the frontline has enabled significant improvements to the interceptor, the company noted.

Gaarpia features a modular design that can be quickly assembled at the launch site. It is catapult-launched, capable of reaching speeds of up to 200 km/h, operating at altitudes of up to 5,000 metres, and remaining airborne for up to 100 minutes.

According to the developers, Gaarpia’s unique wing configuration provides high manoeuvrability, enabling aggressive turns and precise targeting. Its controls and flight modes are automated, while the communication system is resistant to electronic warfare.

According to Brave1 Market, the drone has not yet passed codification by the Ministry of Defence.

Earlier, Defender Media reported that Ukrainian company Piranha Tech introduced new interceptors designed to counter strike and reconnaissance drones.
