EW developer Piranha Tech enters the UAV market with Hunter and Riki interceptor drones
Hunter is designed to hunt Shaheds, while Riki targets reconaissance and other drones

At the IT Arena 2025 conference, Ukrainian company Piranha Tech unveiled drones designed to counter enemy UAVs: the high-speed Shahed interceptor Hunter and the manoeuvrable drone Riki, developed primarily to intercept enemy reconnaissance drones.
Piranha Tech is best known for its expertise in electronic warfare. The company has been active in this field for over 10 years and is one of the largest players in Ukraine’s EW market. Entering the drone segment marks the company’s first serious move into a new niche. Defender Media reviewed the systems and outlines their key specifications.
Hunter – Shahed interceptor
The Hunter UAV has been developed to intercept enemy strike drones such as the Shahed. It is a fixed-wing aircraft that, according to the manufacturer, combines high speed, manoeuvrability, and ease of control. Its optimised wing profile and aerodynamics reduce air resistance and ensure stability at high speeds.

The Hunter has a cruising speed of 90 km/h and can accelerate to 340 km/h, reach altitudes of up to 6,400 metres, and remain airborne for up to 100 minutes. Its maximum flight range is 150 km, with a tactical radius of 50 km. The drone can detect and identify targets at distances of up to one kilometre and can also be integrated with radar detection systems.
Riki – reconnaissance drone interceptor
The Riki interceptor is designed to protect critical assets and respond to hostile targets. According to the developers, its key advantages include rapid deployment to threat zones and quick response capabilities, high manoeuvrability in challenging conditions, intuitive control, and simplified maintenance.

The interceptor Riki is intended for the protection of objects and response to dangerous targets; its key advantages include rapid arrival in the threat zone and prompt response, high manoeuvrability in difficult conditions, intuitive control and simplified maintenance.
Riki can climb to an altitude of up to 5,000 metres, remain airborne for up to 14 minutes, and carry up 0,5 kg of payload. The drone reaches speeds of up to 300 km/h, has a cruising speed of 175 km/h, and an operational range of 21 km. Its operating temperature range is from -20 to +33 °C.
Recently, Defender Media reported that Piranha Tech unveiled its new modular electronic warfare system, DF-M, designed to counter Mavic- and FPV-type drones.
