The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has simplified the codification of explosives and ammunition
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defence has prepared an updated algorithm for the codification of ammunition

The Main Department of Supply of the Ministry of Defence has introduced an updated algorithm for ammunition codification in line with the requirements of the regulation adopted in mid-July. It outlines the steps ammunition manufacturers must take in preparation for codification and clarifies the process for checking and approving technical documentation for new samples.
A key change allows demonstration tests to be skipped if a representative of the state customer attended previous tests and signed the relevant act.
Under the new procedure, manufacturers are required to develop and submit technical documentation, including the tactical and technical task, design documentation, operating instructions, and methods for preliminary tests. Once the tests are completed, these documents are submitted to the Main Department of Supply.
The Ministry of Defence is responsible for reviewing the submitted documents, providing conclusions, approving draft specifications, assessing test results, and determining the interest of units in the relevant ammunition samples. Weapons are codified following demonstration tests in the presence of a state customer representative.
The updated resolution ensures that enterprises already recognised as manufacturers of ammunition or explosives can continue operations, guaranteeing that ongoing production processes are not interrupted. All valid certificates for the storage of military explosives issued under Resolution No. 763 remain in force under the new procedure.
It is also worth noting that in July it became known that the Brave1 state cluster will provide grants to support the production of explosives and ammunition.
