Quantum Systems launches production of Twister drones in Ukraine

The German company Quantum Systems has announced the launch of production of Twister drones at Ukrainian production facilities. The release will begin in July – less than four months after the official presentation of the model, the director of the company’s Ukrainian office, Oleksandr Berezhny, said in a comment to “Militarniy”.

These drones have already entered service in Germany, while in Ukraine their production is just starting.

Twister is positioned as a light tactical reconnaissance drone with vertical take-off and landing. Due to this feature, it does not require a catapult or other launch equipment. The weight of the UAV is 3.8 kg, and its compact dimensions allow it to be transported in a small case.

The declared range of the drone is 15 km, and the time in the air is up to 90 minutes. Preparation for launch takes only 2 minutes.

In the basic configuration, Twister is equipped with a Nighthawk2 optical station with both day and thermal imaging channels. The module can be replaced in the field without complicated manipulations. The drone can also act as a repeater or carry lidars for detailed terrain mapping.

It is also worth noting that Quantum Systems has presented the MOSAIC drone control platform.
