According to a press release, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has launched the production of its own FPV drones at a state-owned enterprise. The project is being implemented as part of a pilot initiative launched in December last year.

As part of a trilateral agreement, a private developer has been granted a licence to manufacture drones at a company run by the Ministry of Defence. The manufactured drones will be sent to units of the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

Once the production technology is mastered and scaled up, the state-owned enterprise will be able to participate in tenders from the Defence Procurement Agency and other potential customers. The Ministry of Defence has developed a roadmap to launch similar production facilities together with other manufacturers of unmanned aerial systems, which should help increase production capacity and supply drones to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defence has also previously developed a new qualification system for drone operators, consisting of four basic qualification levels.
