The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine launches the Offensive of Machines 2.0 hackathon

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is launching the Offensive of Machines 2.0 hackathon aimed at experts in the fields of electronic warfare, air defence, anti-drone systems and fibre optic technologies.

The aim of the hackathon is to attract the best specialists to develop innovative solutions that will help to effectively counteract enemy assets and protect the lives of Ukrainian soldiers. The most promising ideas will be implemented in the form of new defence systems for the Armed Forces.

Russian troops are actively using guided aerial bombs for long-range strikes. Thanks to their secure navigation and complex flight paths, they are difficult to intercept with traditional air defence systems. The Ministry emphasises that it is looking for solutions to neutralise or reduce the effectiveness of these bombs.

In addition, the enemy is using drones controlled via fibre-optic communication, which makes it impossible to jam them. FPV drones with such control are absolutely protected from the effects of EW, they cannot be detected by detectors due to the absence of radio signals, and the operator receives a clear image in real time. Effective solutions are also being sought to combat these technologies.
