They love the smell of termites in the morning: UAF start to burn occupants with FPV drones

Soldiers of the 108th Separate Territorial Defence Brigade presented a new approach to the use of FPV drones by equipping them with a termite-based incendiary mixture. The video of this strike went viral on Twitter.

A company of attack drones No Chance used a drone to attack enemy positions in a forest belt located in the ‘grey zone’ in Zaporizhzhia.

According to Militarny, a large number of sparks and white smoke indicate that a warhead filled with thermite, a mixture of metal powders that produces extremely high temperatures that can reach 2400°C, was chosen for this task.

The exact weight of the warhead used is unknown, but it could have exceeded several kilograms. The most powerful 13-inch FPV drones are capable of carrying up to 8 kg of payload over a distance of up to 5 km.

This is the first time that termite has been used in this way. However, the Ukrainian military has long been using thermite charges in the form of free-fall ammunition.

UAV operators use thermite to drop it on the hatches of abandoned enemy armoured vehicles and on the roofs of buildings where enemies are located.

In addition, thermite can pierce the steel hull of lightly armoured vehicles and easily melt the aluminium armour of vehicles such as BMD-4 and BMP-3.

As usual, russians tried to take credit for this video, but later realised it was not true and quickly removed it from their channels.
