The Iron Polygon has been launched in Ukraine. Here’s what it is

Ukrainian arms and military equipment manufacturers are being offered free testing of their developments at the early stages of design as part of the Iron Polygon initiative, reports the Ministry of Defence.

The project is being implemented by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, the Ministry of Strategic Industries and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The goal is to provide manufacturers with the opportunity to test their products in real conditions, evaluate their effectiveness and improve them.

Participants are offered access to specially equipped testing grounds for various types of military products, professional expertise, advice from military specialists, methodological support and support during testing.

Based on the results of the tests, the developers will receive an official protocol and conclusions from the Central Military Scientific Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and/or the State Research Institute for Testing and Certification of Weapons and Equipment.

Deputy Minister of Defence Ivan Havryliuk stressed that this initiative will help manufacturers significantly reduce testing time and bring their products to the required standards for real combat operations.

“This is not just an opportunity for testing – it is a strategic approach to providing the Defence Forces with the weapons they need now, not potentially in the future,” Havryliuk said.
