₴1.5 billion was allocated to support developers through Brave1 grants

In the state budget for 2024, the government has allocated ₴1.5 billion for grants for developers of defense-tech solutions within the Brave1 cluster. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal.

During the year of Brave1’s existence, its participants have created more than 1600 developments in 12 areas, including drones, electronic warfare, robotic systems and the use of artificial intelligence. To support these initiatives, the government has allocated 186 grants totaling more than ₴120 million for research and development and production scaling.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers has allocated an additional ₴15.5 billion for the purchase of drones, which is an additional resource to the ₴43.3 billion already planned for drones this year.

Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov noted that over 900 innovators have joined Brave1 in the past year. Of the more than 1600 registered developments, 60 were codified in accordance with NATO standards.

Over the course of the year, Brave1 cluster members received 186 grants for their developments totaling $3.2 million.
