Lviv-based company First Parsec has unveiled the pulsejet KROOK 1 deep strike drone – Ukraine’s answer to the Shahed

Ukrainian aerospace startup First Parsec has developed the long-range kamikaze drone KROOK 1, company representatives told Defender Media. KROOK 1 is a relatively low-cost deep strike platform, comparable to the Russian-Iranian Shahed and Geran drones.

The drone carries a 15 kg warhead, has a range of up to 200 km, and a speed of 400 km/h. According to the company, the KROOK 1 is 100% designed and manufactured in Ukraine. Each unit costs around $15,000. It can also be deployed as a decoy to deplete enemy air defence systems.

First Parsec, a Lviv-based aerospace startup, is also working on rockets for orbital cargo delivery. A year ago, the company revealed its plans to create a Ukrainian counterpart to the Shahed in an interview with DEV.UA. At the time, it introduced Thunder Dynamics – a prototype of a pulsejet engine for the future drone.

The company has now completed the development of both the pulsejet engine and the drone itself. The ramjet operates in an explosive pulsation mode, generating thrust through a series of pulses occurring dozens or even hundreds of times per second.

First Parsec has already received Brave1 grants twice. The drone is currently undergoing internal trials. “By the end of the year, we plan to launch the first mission as a decoy,” the company said. “And within eight months – the first combat mission with a full warhead.”
