ARX Robotics unveiled its first combat UGV, developed in collaboration with Ukrainian startup Frontline

European defence company ARX Robotics has unveiled its first combat UGV, the Combat Gereon, developed in collaboration with Ukrainian defence startup Frontline. The developer announced the news on its LinkedIn page.

The new UGV is based on the Gereon RCS platform and follows the “first unmanned contact” concept. It is designed for reconnaissance, route clearance, and forward observation.

The official presentation of the Combat Gereon will take place at the international defence exhibition DSEI UK 2025 in London, where it will be showcased alongside the LOKI remote-controlled weapon station from Valhalla Turrets.

The system can carry various payloads and weaponry of up to 500 kg over a distance of up to 40 km. Separately, ARX, in cooperation with Valhalla, has adapted the system to European certification standards and integrated modern weaponry. Among the UGV’s main advantages are its modular design and the potential for serial production both in Europe and in Ukraine.

This type of UGV was first announced back in November 2024, when the German government funded the purchase of 30 such drones. In 2025, ARX Robotics opened an office in Ukraine and became a resident of Diia.City. The company also announced plans to relocate part of its production and R&D processes to Ukraine.
