Synychka42 – a new drone-repeater resistant to EW

Odesa-based company Aerovector has unveiled “Synychka42”, a new unmanned repeater based on an FPV drone platform. According to the developers, the device is designed to extend the operational range of remotely controlled unmanned systems in challenging environments.

Aerovector highlights the key feature of “Synychka42” as its autonomous control system (ACS) powered by machine vision, enabling the drone to hold position without GPS and withstand electronic warfare interference.

According to the manufacturer, the drone serves as a control relay and video communication hub for various unmanned systems, including ground drones, FPV quadcopters, and fixed-wing UAVs.

“Let’s do the math: a Mavic costs around 70,000, relay equipment adds another 50,000 to 100,000, and a drone-repeater on top of that makes it very expensive. Plus, these drones are not always available — China sells them inconsistently,” explains Viktor Rekun, co-founder of Aerovector. “That’s why we decided to develop our own drone-repeater.

According to him, the Synychka42 features an automatic control system that allows it to lock onto a landmark selected by the pilot and maintain its position at a specified altitude and location for as long as the battery lasts — regardless of wind, rain, or other weather conditions.

The drone is already undergoing combat testing with the Ukrainian Defenсe Forces. Aerovector reports that current efforts are focused on encrypting video transmissions and testing antennas to enhance communication quality.

According to Rekun, current production capacity allows for the manufacture of up to 30 drones per month, with the potential to scale up to 100. The estimated cost per unit is around 70,000 UAH.

Aerovector co-founder Viktor Rekun is also known in Ukraine’s defenсe tech community as the co-founder of Technari — the company behind the ePPO mobile app, the Chaika VR simulator for air defenсe operators, and several other military innovations. Technari recently joined the second cohort of the Defence Builder accelerator.
