The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine plans to purchase 4.5 million Ukrainian-made drones this year. This was announced by Hlib Kanevsky, Director of the Procurement Policy Department of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defence is the largest purchaser of unmanned aerial vehicles for the Armed Forces. In 2024, the ministry purchased and handed over more than 1.5 million drones to the army. 96% of all purchases were made with the participation of Ukrainian manufacturers and suppliers.
This year, the volume may triple. ‘The capacity of the domestic defence industry in 2025 is approximately 4.5 million FPV drones. And the Ministry of Defence plans to buy them all,’ said Hlib Kanevskyi.
