Fibre-optic drones with the lightest coil weight: what we know about TechEx’s Stalker UAVs
TechEx focuses on scaling up production of two models — StalkerXO-10 and StalkerXO-15

Fibre-optic FPV drones are increasingly being used in the frontline due to their resistance to electronic warfare systems. One example is the Ukrainian Stalker drone line developed by TechEx. The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine codified these drones earlier this year, and combat units have since been actively deploying them on the front line.
Data gathered during combat missions, along with operator feedback, have enabled the manufacturer to refine the technology. At present, TechEx is focused on scaling up production of two models: the StalkerXO-10 and StalkerXO-15.
The Stalker XO-10 is a 10-inch drone optimised for the precise targeting of enemy personnel and equipment at the front line. It is specifically designed to operate in environments with intense radio-electronic interference. The drone is highly manoeuvrable in flight and can be prepared for launch quickly.
The Stalker XO-15, with its 15-inch frame, offers extended range and increased payload capacity. It is intended for targeting fortified positions deeper within enemy lines, including rear command centres, artillery sites, and air defence or electronic warfare systems.
The design of the Stalker drones features a record-lightweight fibre-optic coil among Ukrainian drones of this class. Their standardised layout includes an unobstructed upper frame area for payloads of any shape, while the battery is mounted at the front of the lower frame to optimise balance and improve flight stability.
TechEx has developed its own technology and equipment for winding fibre-optic cables, as well as systems for control, signal transmission, and telemetry. The company is currently conducting tests to extend the operational range of its drones to 20 and 25 kilometres.
Notably, a parliamentary committee has approved draft legislation for consideration that would reduce tax and customs duties on components used in the production of fibre-optic drones.
