Ministry of Defence approves use of Spider UGV in Ukrainian Armed Forces

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified and officially approved the unmanned ground vehicle Spider for deployment in units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Developed by a team of Ukrainian engineers, the Spider UGV was designed based on the practical combat experience of military personnel. The platform has several variants tailored for logistics and engineering tasks. Responding to the needs of frontline units, the developers have also implemented technological solutions to extend its operational range.

The Spider is compact — two robots can be easily transported in the back of a military pickup truck. Each unit weighs just over 50 kg and can carry up to 100 kg of payload. Equipped with four motors, the platform offers high mobility, manoeuvrability, and durability in combat environments.

Key advantages include ease of control, the ability to operate effectively under enemy electronic warfare conditions, perform complex manoeuvres in confined spaces, and navigate steep inclines. Its battery allows for several hours of continuous autonomous operation.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defence codified the Vislyuk UGV. In total, the Brave1 state cluster tested around 70 UGV models in April.
