DELTA has been tested on more than 50 different types of drones and a robotic dog

For the first time, the Ukrainian Navy took part in a large-scale NATO exercise using unmanned systems for maritime operations – REPMUS 24. Thanks to the DELTA combat system, the Ukrainian military was able to coordinate the work of more than 50 different types of drones – underwater, sea, land and air. This was reported by the Ministry of Defence.

DELTA has also integrated with the German “robot dog” Robotics-L from Rheinmetall, receiving information about its location. This mobile four-legged friend is capable of performing various tasks in difficult terrain, accompanying soldiers and helping to protect them from mines.

The exercise took place off the coast of the Troy Peninsula in Portugal from 9 to 27 September 2024. During the manoeuvres, the military practised the use of drones to combat submarines, neutralise sea mines and protect underwater infrastructure.

The DELTA system also integrated with other combat systems, enabling data sharing and accurate delineation of ‘friend’ and ‘foe’ forces. This significantly increased the effectiveness of operations management and coordination.

“A number of NATO events with Ukraine’s participation this year prove how valuable the innovative developments of our military are for our Western partners. Joint manoeuvres with NATO, such as REPMUS 24, not only facilitate the exchange of experience, but also increase the level of interaction between Ukraine and our partners. The Ukrainian Navy’s participation in and contribution to these large-scale exercises is an important step towards the further development and technological improvement of the Defence Forces”, said Kateryna Chernogorenko, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for Digitalisation.
