A new state-owned enterprise in the field of Defence Tech has appeared in Ukraine

Ukraine’s Ministry of Defence has established a new state-owned enterprise, the Digital Army. Last week, the official page of the enterprise appeared on LinkedIn, and soon afterwards the website of the Digital Army was launched.
So far, there is little information on official resources and it describes the new state-owned enterprise only in general terms. The Digital Army was established in 2024 to provide innovative software and hardware solutions for the development of complex defence projects. The company’s goal is to combine civilian and military talent to scale up innovation.
The Digital Army website also reports that the company will help build public-private partnerships and joint projects in the following areas:
- Creation of datasets (data collection, infrastructure, AI training);
- Integration into the Ukrainian military software ecosystem;
- Testing, analysis and engineering of robotics capabilities;
- Cybersecurity in the field of robotics, etc.
Digital Army is also listed among the partners of the Machine Offensive 2.0 hackathon organised by the Ministry of Defence in cooperation with the Defence Builder accelerator. The final of the hackathon took place on 7-8 December, with 12 winning teams receiving grants totalling $150K.
