Ukraine unveils concept of FA v1 jet-powered drone at Philippine summit

Ukraine presented the concept of the jet-powered unmanned aircraft FA v1 at the Drone Warfare Summit held in the Philippines, Defense Blog reports. The event took place in Subic Bay from 27 to 29 October and was the country’s first summit of this format.

The forum brought together defence officials, manufacturers and military representatives to discuss the role of unmanned systems in modern warfare. Particular attention was paid to the development of drones across air, maritime and underwater domains in the Indo-Pacific region.

The Ukrainian delegation outlined its vision for unmanned technology and operational experience in deploying such systems. As part of its presentation, it showed the FA v1 concept, said to be capable of speeds exceeding 250 km/h and an operational range of 30 km at altitudes up to 5,000 metres. According to the materials shown, the aircraft has a detection range for aerial targets of up to 15 km.

The model’s silhouette suggests a compact twin-tail configuration, similar to small-scale unmanned air vehicles being developed in several countries. No manufacturer or production details were disclosed during the presentation, but the FA v1 project was said to reflect Ukraine’s experience gained during the war, where unmanned systems have become a defining element of modern combat operations.

Earlier, Defender Media reported that Ukrainian FP-2 drones are capable of carrying 100-kilogram aerial bombs as warheads.
