Spartacus unveils multifunctional Cargo drone

At the Defense Tech Valley 2025 investment summit by Brave1, the defence company Spartacus presented the multifunctional fixed-wing aviation complex Cargo, Militarnyi reports.

Work on the system began before Russia’s full-scale invasion, when the drone was used for cargo transportation and forest fire monitoring. Later it underwent several upgrades based on combat experience and user feedback.

According to the developers, the unmanned aerial vehicle can be deployed as a kamikaze drone, a bomber or for cargo delivery. In bomber configuration, Cargo is capable of carrying three aerial bombs weighing 8.5 kg each or a single 25 kg bomb. After striking a designated target, it returns to a location set by the operators. Its flight range exceeds 500 km, although this depends on payload and fuel supply.

Take-off is possible either from a short strip — a paved section or a field — or from a catapult. Landing can be performed automatically, manually or with the aid of a parachute.

Cargo is equipped with duplicated communication channels, ensuring resilience against electronic interference and spoofing employed by the Russian military.

In addition to Cargo, the Spartacus portfolio includes the Ares vertical take-off reconnaissance UAV, the fixed-wing Eagle UAV and the X3 multicopter.
