Drill launches Masterclasses, a marketplace for video courses in defence, medicine, tactics and security

The Ukrainian-Estonian company Drill OÜ has announced the launch of Drill Masterclasses, a marketplace for professional training courses in defence, security and tactical training.

According to the company’s co-founder, Oleksandr Gusarov, the platform is an analogue of “Udemy for the military and veterans”, but with real combat experience validated by military units. Drill Masterclasses offers video courses in tactical medicine, UAV operator training, shooting, and working in small groups.

The platform operates in a closed format: verified instructors and manufacturers publish training modules, and access is granted according to roles and clearance levels. Course authors receive up to 70% of sales revenue. For defence companies, a SaaS model is provided, allowing them to create their own training programmes.

Drill already has over 200,000 users across 189 countries and cooperates with manufacturers of armour, drones and equipment. One of the first organisations to commission their own courses was the veteran community PSD, which works directly with military units at the front.

The team has received several grants, including from Brave1, and now plans to raise a pre-seed investment round of $500,000. The funds are intended for the development of Drill Masterclasses, the creation of educational content, the construction of a SaaS infrastructure for defence companies, and the expansion of partnerships with manufacturers in NATO countries.

To support scaling, Drill opened a company in Estonia and integrated with the European market, providing access to NATO programmes and simplifying contracting. DrillApps LLC was also registered in the USA to enter the North and South American markets.
