Ahead of the New Year, Ukrainian defence tech company Farsight Vision<\/a> announced partnerships with several reconnaissance drone<\/a> manufacturers, including Mara Drone and Besomar. Defender Media spoke with Farsight Vision co-founder and CEO Victoria Yaremchuk about the details of this cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to her, cooperation with Mara Drone began around a year ago, but the partnership has only now received official status. Before that, Farsight Vision mainly worked directly with military units operating reconnaissance drones. \u201cIt was logical that at some point we would need to reach the manufacturers themselves, to deliver a higher-quality combined product to the military from the outset,\u201d she notes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Victoria points out that the Mara UAV is one of the most widespread \u201cphoto-drones\u201d on the front line. This is why, about a year ago, the companies began working on optimising the processing of data from these UAVs, in particular to improve the quality of imagery analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur product can be used with any reconnaissance drone, but tuning it to specific cameras allows us to achieve better results,\u201d explains the CEO of Farsight Vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout 2025, the two companies carried out joint work and experimentation. Ultimately, this resulted in the creation of a joint integrated product \u2014 the Mara UAS with Farsight Vision software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Victoria Yaremchuk, this system is already being used by some units on the front line. The companies have now begun the codification procedure for the joint solution, so that it can be ordered via the Brave1 Market and included in centralised procurement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mara Drone acts as the seller of the joint solution and will transfer part of the revenue to Farsight Vision under the contract. Customers purchasing the \u201cphoto-drones\u201d can choose the configuration of the UAS themselves \u2014 it may include only certain elements of Farsight Vision\u2019s software or may not include their solution at all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CEO of Farsight Vision adds that cooperation with Mara Drone does not end there. The companies are jointly working on a navigation solution that will enable reconnaissance drones to orient themselves using orthophotos without the need for GPS. The partners are also developing their own mission planner, which will take into account data from previous flights. At the time of publication, Defender Media was unable to obtain a comment from Mara Drone\u2019s management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Farsight Vision has also announced a partnership with another Ukrainian UAV manufacturer \u2014 Besomar. The official statement notes that the cooperation will enable the rapid generation of orthophotos and 3D terrain models directly during reconnaissance flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
