Ukraine launches DOT-Chain Defence, a digital system for the operational supply of weapons
In the initial phase, the military will be able to purchase FPV drones worth 1 billion hryvnias

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has announced the launch of a new digital system for supplying weapons to the Defence Forces — DOT-Chain Defence. The platform operates as a “weapons marketplace”, enabling brigades to independently select and order necessary equipment without excessive bureaucracy, according to Defence Minister Rustem Umerov.
Ten brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are taking part in the pilot project. For its implementation, the Ministry of Defence has allocated one billion hryvnias, to be used exclusively for the procurement of FPV drones via the IT system. In the future, the list of available weapons will be expanded.
The system ensures full digitalisation of processes and a clear division of responsibilities among participants:
- Military units select the required equipment within their budgets, place orders for both in-stock drones and those still in production, leave feedback, provide ratings, and submit service requests;
- Manufacturers and suppliers list their products on the platform, regularly update information on availability and production timelines, and arrange for direct delivery to military units;
- The Defence Procurement Agency (DPA) collects orders, handles payments, oversees deliveries, and analyses feedback from military personnel regarding the quality of equipment and services.
At this stage, fifteen drone manufacturers have already been integrated into the system, while more than 80 companies have submitted commercial proposals, offering over 400 UAV models. Full integration of suppliers is expected to be completed within a month.
DOT-Chain Defence has been modelled on the army’s digital food supply platform, which has already proven its effectiveness. The new system is expected to reduce delivery times from months to just a few weeks, making military logistics more flexible, faster, and fully transparent.
